Introducing Light Bath - Smarter Daily Oral Care

Why Daily Brushing Isn’t Always Enough – And What You Can Do About It

We all know that brushing and flossing are essentials of daily oral care. But for many of us, they’re no longer enough to achieve the kind of oral health and fresh, clean feel we want — or need.

Understanding the Modern Oral Health Challenge

Plaque and stains are more than just leftover food or “gunk” you can scrub away. They’re formed from structured biofilms and coloured compounds in our diet that build up in a protective layer on the teeth. This layer can shelter unwanted microbes and make stains harder to shift. Even with excellent brushing technique, these biofilms begin to reform almost immediately after cleaning.

What’s more, oral health isn’t just about your teeth. Hard-to-reach areas like the gaps between teeth, along the gumline, and soft tissue areas (like cheeks and gums) also matter; as does blood flow and cellular energy in the tissues. These processes keep oxygen and nutrients circulating and support the mouth’s natural ability to stay fresh and self-maintaining.

Brushing and flossing will always be essential, but it’s becoming clear that they aren’t sufficient on their own - especially for those of us aiming for better daily cleanliness, comfort, and confidence. That’s where new tools like NUEOS Light Bath can play a supportive role.

Introducing Light Bath – A New Approach to Daily Oral Care

NUEOS’ Light Bath is a CE-marked device that uses visible light to support your oral care routine. It’s designed to reduce surface stains, support plaque control, and help maintain healthier gums and enamel - even in places your brush and floss might miss. Used alongside NUEOS toothpaste and mouthwash, it promotes a cleaner-feeling mouth, a brighter-looking smile, and lasting freshness between brushes.

As Light Bath also combines multiple visible wavelengths including red light, it acts as PBM light source improving blood circulation in the layers of tooth, roots and gums and their super-charge cell vitality.

The Light Bath is CE marked device for safety in UK and EU, and it works in conjugation with NUEOS’ CPSR registered toothpaste and mouthwash.

How It Works: Safe, Visible Light for Daily Support

The Light Bath uses two clinically studied light wavelengths of blue and red - to offer complementary benefits:

  • Blue light helps clean tooth surfaces by lifting stains and targeting surface-level build-up, all without abrasion. When combined with our enamel-safe PAP whitening formula, it supports a brighter, more even smile - and is gentle enough for everyday use.
  • Red light helps reach areas like between the teeth and below the gumline. It’s absorbed by natural enzymes in your cells, helping to boost energy at the cellular level. This process supports circulation in gum tissues and promotes overall gum health. It can also enhance the performance of active ingredients like hydroxyapatite in our toothpaste, helping them work more effectively on the deeper layers of the tooth.

This technology builds on well-established uses of light in healthcare and dentistry - from composite curing lights to cosmetic whitening systems. With modern LEDs, we’ve made it simple and safe for everyday use at home.

Why It Matters

Daily brushing is vital, but most of us don’t reach every area, every time. Biofilms, surface stains, and general build-up can return quickly, especially in tight spaces and around the gums.

The Light Bath provides an easy way to extend the benefits of brushing, helping your mouth feel cleaner, fresher, and more comfortable all day. It’s not a replacement for the basics - but it is a smart complement.

Used twice a day with NUEOS toothpaste and mouthwash, the Light Bath supports:

  • A cleaner, fresher mouth throughout the day
  • A more uniform, brighter-looking smile
  • Comfortable gums and stronger-feeling teeth
  • Everyday confidence in how your smile looks and feels

How to Use It - The NUEOS 5-Step Ritual

  1. Floss - Remove debris between teeth using the floss. Press gently up to the gum line.
  2. Activate - Crunch a toothpaste tablet and move it around your mouth to coat every tooth. Spit out excess.
  3. Let the Light In - Press and hold the button for 2 seconds. Place the Light Bath in your mouth. After 1 minute it will beep. Remove, rinse, and return to the dock.
  4. Brush - Brush with your wet manual or electric toothbrush for 2 minutes. Gentle circles. Spit and rinse.
  5. Freshen - For extra freshness, chew a mouthwash tablet. Swish, then spit.

🛡️ Safety Note: The Light Bath uses non-UV, visible light only. As with any light-based product, avoid shining directly into your eyes. If you have a light sensitivity or active oral conditions, consult a dental professional before use.

Why We Created the Light Bath

As of April 2025, there are over 10,000 scientific publications on photobiomodulation (PBM) - with more than 2,700 specific to dentistry. Light is already a part of modern healthcare and dental practice. From light therapy for mood support and skincare to blue light for newborn care and dental tools in clinics, we’re surrounded by it.

With the Light Bath, NUEOS brings this familiar, proven technology into everyday oral care, in a way that fits real life.

NUEOS advances these facts by integrating safe blue and red visible light into everyday care by pairing at-home PBM with toothpaste and mouthwash formulated with clinically proven ingredients for a holistic routine. Used together, the Light Bath works alongside NUEOS pastes and rinses to promote a cleaner-feeling mouth, a more uniform and brighter-looking smile, and a fresh sensation that lasts. Because it’s quick and easy it fits real life dental routines, complements the basics, and supports overall wellbeing by reinforcing everyday physical comfort and day-to-day confidence in how your smile looks and feels.
